A Good Day

Here's a list of the things I got done today!

  • Slept in
  • Almost did a handstand a few times!
  • Used the traditional just-sitting-in-front-of-everyone shower station things in the shower room (although nobody was in there)
  • Did leg stretching exercises for 40 minutes
  • Organized my class papers and wrote down assignments for next week
  • Bought groceries
  • Finished Kanji worksheet for Wednesday
  • Wrote about half of task reading worksheet for Wednesday
  • Made online Kanji flashcards for Wednesday's quiz
  • Wrote some emails
  • Contemplated my purpose in life
  • Drew a picture
  • Ate a tiny piece of cake (for golden week! it says so on the box)
  • Watched some Naruto with Nick
  • Thought some more about my purpose in life

That all chalks up to a good day in my book =) Why can't every week be Golden Week?

Oh man, I love locking too. I'm very jealous. Have you seen...

P-lock is da bomb. I also like Hamutsun Serve:

They're not as good, I think, but they look like they're having so much fun. I'm probably just seeing things, but lockers always seem like they're taking themselves less seriously than people who specialize in other genres.

Nats, Sounds like you finally got a day to relax! Your program is definitely more intense than anything I went through.

You can take a night bus to Kyoto (about a 7 hour ride) for like $60 bucks round trip.... I might take this bus up to Saitama if you can't come down. The other option is the Shinkasen...which would be awesome...but it is super expensive. I kind of want to ride it for the experience.

School is kicking my butt. Finals start Monday and I haven't even started studying. I have to admit. I haven't been trying. Things are so stressful right now that I am just not doing anything....strange how the human brain works. What are your ideas on your purpose in life? Could it be to own a candy store built of completely recyclable and biodegradable materials which holds courses to teach people about recycling and helping the environment?

Oh, such long comments!

I feel like I should have a productive day like you. And I do really need to work on some life purpose contemplation...

So what's the purpose of your life, or life in general?

Purpose of life? Do tell! Is it to serve the God(s) of our choice?

So many comments this time!

Erik - Thanks for the videos =D I agree about the general demeanor of lockers.. they just look like they're having such a good time! That's a big reason I really wanna learn =) I'll definitely post some videos of our first real routine when we learn it.

Sada - 7 hours on a train on a bus is fine with me! I can study or sleep =D and $60 round trip is beautiful! I was looking at rates for just the shinkansen up north just a little bit to see some countryside and it was over $100 one way! Boo. Good lock on your finals ~__~ I hope mine aren't too bad...in 3 months! I have a new requirement for the candy store, and that is to make and sell konpeito. And for me to eat konpeito all day.

Jen - I'm finding golden week to be a good time to just lay in bed and think, haha. Is that a waste of my time in Japan I wonder?

anonymous - I'm curious who keeps posting anonymously =) But in answer to your question, I'm not sure yet. But I think it has something to do with using my powers for good and not for self.

anonymous #2 - I think everyone's purpose in life is what they choose to make of it. For some people it's getting by from day to day and living comfortably. Others devote their time and energy to developing skills like the arts, or becoming knowledgeable in their fields of study. Some of us do choose to serve God, and for me it's more the specifics of how I would best do that which I'm contemplating =)

How about using our powers both for good and for ourselves? They don't have to be mutually exclusive, you know. BTW, curiosity is the key to knowledge. So keep it up :)

Dear anonymous folks,
Give the girl a break and some time to figure out what to do with her life. I'm sure Natalie will let those who are not so anonymous know soon enough.

Hmm...
I guess we'd have to do our own thinking for now.
